Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said that the 492 redundant Fiat employees received their severance payments exactly when Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said they would at the Saturday meeting with the Kragujevac factory workers.

The redundant workers were paid 93.000 Dinar (1 Euro – 118 Dinar) per year of employment.

The Stellantis company needs the other workers, the thing is that they have to decide on whether they want to go abroad until the plant in Kragujevac starts making electric cars, in 18 to 24 months at the latest, Brnabic told TV Prva.

We got an additional offer from Stellantis, which the workers asked for. I think the company made a big mistake by not accepting the “three plus one” immediately, said Brnabic.

Under the new offer, workers would work three months abroad and then spend one month at home.

They have another week to decide if they want to work 18 to 24 months abroad or accept the “three plus one offer”, said Brnabic.

We will form a team that will go to Kragujevac to talk to the workers. I kindly ask them to understand that this has to do with how soon we will start making electric cars in Kragujevac, said the Prime Minister, adding that the total bonus for workers who decide to go abroad would amount to 17,000 Euro.
