The European Parliament’s Standing Rapporteur for Serbia Vladimir Bilcik MEP said that the European perspective of the Western Balkans is a matter of political choice.

Bilcik said in a Twitter post that he met with European Union envoy for the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajcak to discuss the consequences of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aggression on Ukraine for the EU enlargement process in the region.

“It is very clear now that European perspective is a matter of political choice & commitment. We must anchor firmly all genuinely all pro-European forces in the region,” Lajcak wrote.
