The European Commission has received responses from Belgrade and Pristina on the Franco-German proposal to resolve the Kosovo issue, a European Commission spokesperson told N1 on Friday.

“We now have received the answers from both parties and we are studying them. We urge Kosovo and Serbia to utilise this opportunity and take a historic leap forward in normalising their relations, which is key for them to advance in their European path,” the spokesperson said in a written reply.

The spokesperson recalled that the EU, supported by France and Germany, has presented a proposal to the parties to make concrete and irreversible progress on the road to comprehensive normalization of their relations. “We need to overcome the permanent crisis mood and reduce tensions between Kosovo and Serbia,” the spokesperson said.
