Belgrade city transport (GSP) employees staged a protest in front of the Serbian Presidency building in central Belgrade on Tuesday.

The gathering was organized to protest low salaries and long working hours.

Sloga union spokesmen said that GSP managers tried to prevent their staff from going to the protest, ordering security guards to stop them leaving bus and tram depots. A GSP driver told N1 that a large number of employees managed to attend the protest.

The protesters complained of managers discriminating disobedient drivers. According to them, obedient drivers get to work better lines in better buses while the rest are harassed. They said the protest was being staged over the new contract which lowered salaries. They added that they sent the Serbian President proposals more than two months earlier and received no response.
