Belgrade Airport still major regional hub

Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla international airport served 27.1 percent fewer passengers in July 2021 than in the same month of 2019 before the coronaivrus pandemic but remains the leading airport in the region.

The Ex-Yu Aviation portal said that some 535,500 travellers passed through the airport in July and that 1.5 million passed through in the first seven months of the year which is 56.4 percent less than in the same period of 2019. The portal said that Belgrade airport continues to have more travelers than any other airport in the former Yugoslavia.

The portal said that Air Serbia accounted for 48.3 percent of all flights from Belgrade between January and July 2021, Wiz Air accounted for 12.2 percent and Lufthansa 6.3 percent.
