Serbian media reported on Tuesday that Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport was evacuated following a bomb threat
The Serbian state TV (RTS) said that police confirmed that a bomb threat had been received and that the airport was being searched.
Pictures posted on social media networks showed travelers standing in front of the airport terminal with their bags, waiting for the police to complete the search. They also showed a heavy police presence and several ambulances.
Danas daily quoted airport staff who said that the airport authorities received several bomb threats over the past month. It added that the terminal was evacuated four times following what turned out to be fake bomb threats since the start of the war in Ukraine.
Air Serbia flights from Belgrade to Moscow were forced to turn bank 10 times last month following bomb threats.
