Novak Djokovic's Australian ordeal continues on Monday even after a court ruled his visa denial was "unreasonable" after the Immigration Minister Alex Hawke announced he could use his exclusive power to deport the tennis world number one, preventing him from defending the title at the Australian Open this year, his potentially 10th in Melbourne for which he started practising soon after the release from detention.

The deadline for the new decision was four hours, but according to Australian media, „we don’t expect a decision, either way, will be made tonight, and could be as early as tomorrow morning.“

If the decision is to deport him, he still has the right to appeal, but it is unclear whether he will do that while still in the country or from home.

Immediately after the court ruling, Djokovic went to Melbourne’s ‘Rod Laver’ arena to start practising for the tournament that would begin on January 17.

In the meantime, Nigel Farage, the UK’s most vocal supporter of Brexit, is in Belgrade as the gest of Djokovic’s family. He backed the tennis player on his Twitter account.

Earlier, media reported Djokovic was re-arrested after the court’s ruling, but the news was denied.

In his ruling, Federal Circuit Court judge Anthony Kelly said the visa annulment was „unreasonable“ and reminded Hawke that if he again revoked Djokovic’s visa, that would mean he would not be able to enter Australia for the next three years.

However, the Minister also has the right to deport Djokovic now, but don’t ban him from taking part at the AO next year.

In the meantime, the Australian The Age website reported that Djokovic’s supporters outside the court jumped on an exiting car believed to be carrying him and clashed with the police, who used pepper spray against the most violent crowd.

„Victoria Police have pepper-sprayed fervent Novak Djokovic supporters who mobbed a car that was exiting the building, home to his legal team, in Melbourne’s CBD.

A black car emerged from the CBD building’s car park at about 8.45 pm. Fans, many in Serbian coloured clothing, mobbed the vehicle as it moved at a snail’s pace down King Street,“ the website said.
