Serbia's Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (ALIMS) said on Wednesday said that, according to the data available to that national regulatory body, there was no reason to discontinue or in any way limit the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine in Serbia.

No cases of AstraZeneca’s causing embolic and thrombotic adverse events have been reported to Serbia’s Agency so far, ALIMS said.

The Agency added it was aware of the situation with AstraZeneca in other countries and the European Union and carefully monitored it, but also followed the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO) that were in favour of continuing vaccination.
