Serbia’s flag carrier Air Serbia said on Tuesday it would resume direct Belgrade – Rome air traffic from April 30 twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

Depending on the coronavirus pandemic and the consequent travel restrictions, the company plans to introduce flights on Sundays as well from June 13.

Air Serbia will be the only airline that connects Serbia and Italy and will offer up to 864 seats a week in both directions during the summer season.

The company suspended direct flights between Belgrade and Rome in March 2020 due to the pandemic.

The route resumed in July 2020 but had to be cancelled two weeks later due to the worsened pandemic situation in Europe.
