On Monday, the same day when Montenegro's new Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapic took office, the country's Special prosecutor Milivoje Katnic said his office would investigate the allegations about political corruption, which a new ruling coalition official accused the old regime of.

Dritan Abazovic, a deputy Prime Minister in charge of security services, and the leader of the URA civic movement accused some members of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), led the head of state Milo Djukanovic, of corruption and announced lustration, causing a bitter reaction by some deputies of the party who ruled the coastal republic for the last three decade.

„After Abazovic said that during a TV show on Thursday, the Special Prosecutor’s Office would check the allegations after we see the video. Also, we’ll decide whether to call Abazovic as a citizen to inform us about his findings,“ Katinic said.

Abazavic said he was offered 21 million Euro, but did not want to say who made the offer.
The statement caused reactions by both ruling and opposition parties, demanding Abazovic to name a person who had offered him the money and requested a prompt response by the Prosecution’s Office.
