Germany donates ten cars and IT equipment to Serbia's Interior Ministry

Germany' donation to Serbia's Interior Ministry (MUP) worth some 745,000 Euro consisting of ten 'Dacia Duster' vehicles and IT equipment was presented on Friday.

Interior Minister Aleksandar Vulin said Germany’s donations to Serbia’s MUP had so far been 3.5 million Euro. „It was big money, and it was spent on the policemen’s needs, empowering the border police.“

„The fight against illegal migrations, terrorism, organised crime is something that brings as together, regardless of where we are, and every aid to MUP is an investment into the entire European safety,“ Vulin said.

The German ambassador to Serbia, Thomas Schieb said the two countries had cooperated for years in curbing the international crime.

„Serbia’s Border Police Department has for years been our important partner in suppression and control of the illegal migrations. This big help donated by the German Interior Ministry is a contribution to the border supervision at the European level,“ the ambassador said.
