Serbian Internal Affairs Minister Aleksandar Vulin said on Friday that Internet anonymity should be abolished following threats against President Aleksandar Vucic on social networks.

Speaking live on the pro-regime TV Pink, Vulin said that a law should be adopted preventing anyone from opening a social media account without disclosing the correct personal data. “Anonymity has brought the worst filth on networks (…) that will be happening until anonymity on the Internet is abolished,” he said.

According to the police minister, the threats against Vucic are an issue for prosecutors and the judiciary to address because “they are creating an atmosphere in which the Vucic family is hated so much that they should be killed”, adding that no one speaks out about fascism until it reaches them.
