Serbian minister says prevention measures should not be enforced in institutions

Serbian Culture Minister Maja Gojkovic said on Monday that institutions of culture across the country should not be forced to implement the pandemic prevention measures that are due to take effect on Tuesday, claiming they are not an infection hazard.

She said in a proposal to the government pandemic Crisis Staff that “since institutions of culture and the programs organized in them do not represent a risk which could cause a worsening of the epidemiological situation” they should not have to abide by the restrictions.

She also wants an official of her ministry included in the Crisis Staff because the measures are meant to be implemented in institutions of culture.
