Over the past 24 hours, 1,792 coronavirus tests have been performed in Slovenia, confirming 501 new cases of coronavirus infection, with 27.96% positive tests, and there have been 34 related deaths, the Slovenian government said on Monday.

There are currently 1,264 COVID-19 patients in hospitals, 207 of them are in intensive care units, and 38 recovered patients were released from hospitals on Sunday, the Health Ministry said.

Some of the tighter measures adopted by the government on Thursday have come into force today and will be in place for two weeks.

All shops, except for those selling food and basic necessities, are closed, and public transport has been suspended. The ban on travelling outside one’s municipality is still in place and it is prohibited to leave one’s home late at night.

As of Friday, all gatherings outside the family circle are prohibited, and the measures regulating cross-border travel are also stricter.
