A senior doctor from the Infectious Diseases Clinic in Belgrade said on Thursday that coronavirus patients are being transferred from the Serbian capital to hospitals in other towns.

Dr Ivana Milosevic, deputy CEO of the clinic, told the state TV (RTS) that hospitals have less and less space for new patients, forcing Belgrade’s COVID hospitals to move patients to nearby Pancevo and Smederevska Palanka.

She said that the Infectious Diseases Clinic examined 288 people over the previous 24 hours. “We had a hard night. The clinic is full, 12 patients are on ventilators. We also had two deaths last night. We have eight free ventilators and all the wards are full,” she said.
