EU launches Access2Markets portal for businesses

The European Union launched the Access2Markets online info portal to provide support to small and medium-sized trade companies in Serbia that want to enter other markets, the EU Info Center said on Tuesday.

It said that the portal provides all necessary information on EU trade agreements, customs duties and procedures, taxes, declarations of origin, import and export requirements and trade barriers in the EU and more than 120 countries across the world. The portal was set up for companies, business organizations, chambers of commerce and business advisory bodies, export promotion organizations and companies looking for goods proiders outside the EU.  

Access2Markets includes the ROSA self-assessment tool which provides assistance on rules defining the economic nationality of goods defined in each trade agreement to protect market sectors allowing companies to request reduction or lifting of customs duties under specific agreements, the statement said. It also provides access to annual trade trend reports from 2002 onwards and allows companies to report trade barriers. The EU Info Center said that portal is optimized for smartphones and tablets and its use is free of charge.
