A police inspector was stabbed while trying to prevent a car theft in the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad on Wednesday.
The Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) said in a statement that the police is looking for the attacker who used a screwdriver to stab the police inspector in the arm and leg. The police released a picture of the suspect, calling for the public to help in the search. The inspector was taken to hospital with multiple wounds.
Strong police forces have been deployed in the city. Local media reported several arrests but got no confirmation if the attackers was arrested.
