Belgrade University students put up tents in front of the Education Ministry as part of a protest against higher school fees on Monday.
Protest organizer, law school student Nikola Arsenic told the Nova.rs portal that they would be blocking traffic up to 3:00 pm and try to meet the education minister. He said the students also support the professors fighting for the autonomy of the university.
He said the students had collected 15,000 signatures on their petition to lower school fees.
Monday’s protest comes after a protest under the slogan United for Education on Saturday. That protest drew no official reaction, prompting the students to stage a new protest.
