A Swiss court has ruled in favor of United Group co-owner Dragan Solak in his law suit for defamation filed against pro-government Serbian media.

“United Group co-owner Dragan Solak sued the Pink International Company d.o.o, Radiodiffusion company Studio B d.o.o, the Insajder Tim d.o.o. company which owns the tabloid Informer and its editor in chief Dragan J. Vucicevic over all the lies about Solak published daily in the tabloids and TV stations,” a press release said and added that “the District Court in Zurich made a ruling which indubitably determined violations of Dragan Solak’s personal rights by the sued media”.

“The district court determined that those media waged a media campaign against the plaintiff, falsely accusing him and publishing lies about himself personally and the way the plaintiff does business and his alleged political engagement with comments and views aimed at portraying the plaintiff in a biased manner in a bad light,” it said and added that the sued media failed to prove any of the claims they published.

“The Swiss court ruled that the sued media have to pay Dragan Solak damages in hard currency (CHF), that they have to remove the stories and links to shows which violated his personal rights and refrain from repeating the same in future as well as publish the court ruling. Pink, Studio B, Informer and Dragan J. Vucicevic have been ordered to cover the cost of the court proceedings.

The court specifically banned Informer editor in chief Vucicevic from making any statement in violation of Solak’s personal rights. The Zurich District Court ruling took effect on September 15.

Dragan Solak, who has lived in Switzerland for years, sought justice in a Swiss court where he believes the sued media do not enjoy the protection of the ruler. Solak will file suit against other media who published various lies about him in the meantime, deceiving the Serbian public with complete fabrications. N1 TV is part of the United Group.
