SBB CFO Saso Cunder told an AmCham working lunch with the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and Exim bank that a choice of cable operators is not always available in Serbia because of inequality of treatment by state institutions.

Cunder was speaking at a working lunch attended by AmCham Serbia members, DFC Belgrade office chief John Jovanvic and Exim bank and American embassy officials. An SBB press release said that the meeting discussed projects in infrastructure, energy, mining, IT and communication technologies, telecommunications and aid for small and medium companies with focus on a review of the market, key challenges and the best opportunities for investments in those sectors.

“At a time when information is the most important resource, credible, quality TV programming and superior Internet services are just some of the things that we provide. Unfortunately, a choice of operator is not always available in Serbia since the law and state institutions do not treat all market players equally which, I hope, will change,” Cunder said. The press release said that he also spoke of investment opportunities in the telecommunications sector with focus on 5G technology.

The press release recalled that SBB is an AmCham member. It said that the meeting was attended by top officials of the Raiffeisen Bank, Philip Morris International, IHG, NCR and sernios AmCham officials.

SBB is part of the United Group along with N1 TV. The EBRD along with the KKR and BC Partners investment funds have invested in the United Group over the past two decades.
