Residents of the southern Serbian city of Nis were bewildered on Tuesday by a column of several dozen cars parading through central streets with horn blaring and flags flying to mark the first every Serb Unity Day, the local Juzne Vesti portal reported.

The column of cars was organized by the ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) to mark the new holiday.

Portal reporters were repeatedly asked by people on the streets what was happening. Some passersby said the column resembled traditional wedding processions while others complained of the noise.
