After his meetings at the White House and the documents he signed seen by some to be at the expense of Serbia's relations with Russia and China, President Aleksandar Vucic discussed on Friday the cooperation with Beijing with the Chinese ambassador to Serbia Chen Bo.

On Thursday, Vucic had a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, reiterating Serbia would remain true Russian partner.

The Washington documents included the diversification of energy supplies, seen as Serbia’s pledge not to depend only on gas from Russia.

Vucic told Bo that Serbia would keep an honest friendship with China and develop bilateral cooperation with Beijing in all areas, including telecommunications.

A part of the Washington documents says Serbia and Kosovo should be careful in choosing ‘unreliable partners’ in implementing the 5G network what many see as a reference to the Chinese telecommunication giant Huawei.

Vucic and Bo agreed that the joint projects in Serbia progressed well.

President thanked China for its support of Serbia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and reaffirmed Belgarde’s support of „One China“ policy.
