Serbia's Anti-Corruption Council still silent about Telekom & Wireless Media agreement Seven days after N1 TV was told it would get a response from the Anti-Corruption Council if the agreement between Wireless Media owned by Igor Zezelj and the state Telekom company was corruptive, no response came and the Council said the deadline was approximate.

It had not yet either adopted or rejected the report of its member Jelisaveta Vasilic about the Telekom Srbija businesses.

The Council told N1 TV it would surely issue the opinion, but that it took time, since the agreement worth 38 million Eurosent to it by Marinika Tepic, an opposition leader, who said the deal was corruptive, had 20 pages and many details which should be looked into carefully.

However, it took much longer to declared itself about Vasilic’s June report saying Telekom nearing bankruptcy.

She submitted to the Council her initial report in February. Miroslav Sarcanski, a member of the Economy Board of the opposition Movement of Free Citizens, said the Council hesitated because it was caught between two fires.“

The Council deliberately drags with the report because its adoption will upset people from the ruling (Serbian Progressive Party, SNS) party who formally or informally manage Telkom, while in the case of the rejection of the report, the Council would find fault with the public,“ he told N1.

Nemanja Nenadic from the Transparency Serbia said „the Telekom issue should be considered by the Government which nominates the state representatives in that company, as well as by the State Auditor and other institutions.
