Sava (Janjic), the prior of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Visoki Decani monastery in Kosovo, addressed the public in Albanian, suggesting a solution for a road linking Kosovo and Montenegro as an alternative to the route running through the protected monastery zone to avoid possible damage to the SPC holy object.
In the post in Albanian, English and Serbian, Sava recalled Kosovo’s Government 2014 decision to build the road which should go around the protection zone, saying that project was the best and in line with Kosovo’s laws.

„I sincerely hope that Kosovo’s Government and Decani municipality will support that solution, which is also suggested by the international representatives,“ the prior said.
In the meantime, Kosovo’s Prime Minister Avdulah Hoti said he believed a solution to the disputed road would be found.
„We’re here to find a solution for Decani residents and preserve the cultural heritage,“ Hoti said after the meeting with Decani Mayor and the KFOR commander in Kosovo Michele Risi.
Hoti is due to visit Visoki Decani monastery later in the day.
