The Serbian Association of Oil Companies said on Thursday that average fuel prices rose by some five Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) a liter in the previous five weeks.

A press release said that gasoline and diesel prices rose following a rise in crude oil prices of some 130 percent. “The year so far can be divided into two periods – a period of oil prices dropping between January and the end of April and from the end of April to the end of July when prices rose by some 25 Dollars a barrel,” it said and added that a barrel of crude cost 20 Dollars at the end of April, 40 Dollars early in June and 45 Dollars early in August.

According to the Association, fuel prices in Serbia dropped up to mid-May followed by what it said was a month long stagnation in prices before changes on the global market affected prices in Serbia along with a rise in duties.
