The Embassy of Japan in Belgrade said on Wednesday that Ambassador Junichi Maruyama signed a note on a donation of medical equipment with Serbian Health Minister Zlatibor Loncar.

The government of Japan has earmarked some 820,000 Euro to help strengthen the Serbian health system in the fight against infectious diseases, a press release said.

The donation will come in the form of Japanese radiology equipment, ambulances and other medical equipment to reduce the differences in health care facilities across Serbia. The donation is aimed at strengthening the health care system not just in the fight against COVID-19 but also in the long term, the embassy press release said.
