Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Thursday that the second package of state aid measures to ease the fallout from the coronavirus pandemic was a very important step which will help save jobs and production capacities.

“The package is worth 66 billion Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) and includes the payment of 60 percent of the minimum wage to private sector employees in August and September as well as one month defferment of taxes and duties,” the minister said.

He said the new package of government measures continues behind the first package which was worth 5.1 billion Euro and added that the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) is allowing another two month moratorium on loan repayment.

Mali said that the companies which received payment of the full minimum wage for their employees in July do not have to re-apply for the aid. “We tried to keep the process simple. If anyone does not want state aid they can return the money to the State Treasury,” he said.
