The Serbian Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) took delivery of a donation in medical and other protective equipment from China worth 630,000 Euro, the ministry said in a press release on Monday.
It said that the donation includes metal detector doorways, scanners and detection equipment for a number of materials for the police Security Unit as well as 40,000 masks and 1,000 protective masks and the same number of goggles.
Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic told a ceremony attended by Chinese Ambassador Chen Bo that the shipment of aid will guarantee better protection for the police and help them do their job more efficiently. He also thanked both the ambassador and China’s Minister of Public Security Zhao Kezhi, saying that he expects more donations this year.
Ambassador Bo said that the two ministries have excellent cooperation which contributes to promoting other cooperation between the two countries. She recalled the joint patrols by Serbian and Chinese police officers and the exercise by police special forces.
