Hashim Thaci, Kosovo's President told reporters late on Thursday he answered all questions the Specialised Prosecutors had for him about the 1998-1999 war in the then Serbia's province and its aftermath, and that it would be easy to conclude he had not committed any war crime, the Beta news agency reported.

He was interviewed for four days after The Hague prosecutors prepared the indictmentsagainst him, former Kosovo’s Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli and several other Kosovars for war crimes.

„I’m very satisfied with the opportunity to testify about all the issues regarding my activities during the war and my efforts to secure peace, stability, development and progress,“ Thaci said.

He added that „during these four days, I was able to provide information about my role and my responsibilities during the war.“

Thaci said the hearings were productive and that it was now up to prosecutors and judges to decide without bias.

„If they work professionally, they can easily conclude I did not commit a single war crime,“ Thaci told reporters, adding Kosovo’s Liberation Army (KLA) war was just, the fight for freedom and that Pristina had the support of the world.
