Serbia’s Justice Ministry said on Friday that Hungary decided to extradite Ljubisa Manitasevic, suspected of war crimes in Kosovo, to Belgrade, the Beta news agency reported.
Manitasevic, suspected of unlawfully wounding and killing the enemies during the 1998-1999 war in the then Serbia’s province of Kosovo, would be extradited upon the request of Belgrade’s War Crime Prosecutor Office.
The Ministry said that Pristina also demanded Manitasevic’s extradition and that the respective court in Hungary ruled the legal conditions allowed the extradition both to Serbia and Kosovo.
“Eventually, the Hungarian Justice Minister (Trócsányi László) decided that Ljubisa Manitasevic would be extradited to Belgrade in line with international law and justice,” the Ministry said in a statement.
