No one from Serbia's ruling coalition has ever come to us, or called us or tried to influence the work of the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM), Olivera Zekic, a member of REM says on Monday and accuses the opposition "Alliance for Serbia (SzS) of doing that all the time," the FoNet news agency reports.

„They (SzS) are still burdened with the idea that they are those who ought to regulate the public information space. That delusion is dangerous for democracy and themselves because until they understand that the power isn’t won or lost thanks to the media, they won’t make a single step forward,“ Zekic told the pro-regime Informer tabloid.

She added that REM’s job wasn’t to take care of someone’s feelings but to implement the law equally.

Zekic said that there were „hysterical calls to ban President Aleksandar Vucic to be Vucic, and some REM members report to the opposition politicians.“
