Filming of United Media produced ‘King’ series starts

The series about the life of King Aleksandar I Karadjordjevic of Yugoslavia, also known as the King Unifier, directed by Zdravko Sotra and produced by the United Media, started on Thursday in the Royal Palace in Belgrade, the current home of the Crown Prince Aleksandar Karadjordjevic, N1 reported.

The series is based on a book written by Vuk Draskovic.

Some 150 characters will appear in the series, while the leading roles are reserved for Serbia’s famous actors Sergej Trifunovic, Branislav Lecic, Nikola Kojo… The French producers also recognised the significance of the story of King Aleksandar I, and they would be a part of the project.

Some French actors will play the roles of the French President and Prime Minister at the time, as well as King Aleksandar I wartime mates like General Franchet d’Espèreyand Admiral Guépratte, after whom two Belgrade’s streets were named.
