Criminal charges have been filed by the police against Dveri lider Bosko Obradovic MP and three others for causing last week’s incident in front of parliament, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said on Tuesday.

Obradovic and three others are being charged with “violence against Marijan Risticevic MP, Health Care Minister Zlatibor Loncar and others”.

The Dveri leader and several party members stood on the steps of parliament stopping ruling coalition MPs and the minister from entering. The incident included some pushing and shoving and verbal assaults. Two ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) MPs started hunger strikes on Sunday to protest the fact that prosecutors have allegedly not done anything about the incident.

The RTS said the charges were filed by the Internal Affairs Ministry after information about the incident was collected. It said that the prosecution launched an investigation to determine whether violence was committed as defined by article 344 of the Criminal Code and would decide later what further action to take, a statement said.
