The British Defense Ministry has given its Serbian counterpart protective equipment to help stop the spread of the coronavirus, the Serbian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

A handover ceremony was organized at the Military Medical Center Karaburma with Minister Aleksandar Vulin expressing gratitude to the United Kingdom’s Ambassador in Belgrade Sian MacLeod and military Attache Colonel Nick Ilic for the gift. Vulin said that the donated equipment, which includes a disinfection tunnel and 14 refrigerators worth more than 1.2 million Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars) will be of great help to the staff at the center.

The press release quoted MacLeod as saying that the donation is a gesture of solidarity in the fight against the pandemic. Colonel Ilic is quoted as saying that the modest but significant donation is a symbol of cooperation between two friendly countries which will continue in the future.
