Prime Minister Ana Brnabic pledged two million Euro as a donation towards the European Union’s goal of a billion Euro for global research into a vaccine for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

Speaking at an online donors’ conference, Brnabic said she thinks there has been no greater need for unity, adding that “the COVID-19 virus” is a common enemy.

The EU has pledged to raise a billion Euro to help find a vaccine, European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen told the conference.

Brnabic said that a million of the donation is intended to help develop a vaccine and the other is earmarked for the World Health Organization to reinforce health care systems.
