There were no coronavirus infections in most newsrooms in Novi Sad, Nis, Kragujevac, Zrenjanin, Bor, Prijepolje, Smederevska Palanka and Vrnjacka Banja, and the same is true in the daily Blic and the Republika portal, the Journalists Association of Serbia (UNS) said on Saturday.
Responding to the Crisis Staff’s report on epidemic control stating that journalists in some newsrooms were infected with the virus, the Association sent about 50 e-mails to national and regional media asking if there had any sick employees or those in isolation and self-isolation, and what changes in the organization of work dit they undertake due to the pandemic.
In replies from newsrooms of RTV Bor, RTV Vrnjacka Vanja, TV Jasenica, TV Forum, RTV Kragujevac, Radio 021, Blic, Zrenjanin, Republic and Južne Vesti, it was stated that there were no coronavirus infections among their employees.
Previously, the Tanjug, Beta and FoNet news agencies and the Danas and Alo newspapers confirmed to the UNS that no employees were infected with the virus in those media outlets, while the Ministry of Health reportedly did not respond to their request regarding the alleged journalists and media workers who caught the disease five days after they received it.
