Eleven more coronavirus cases in Serbia, total goes to 83

A total of 83 coronavirus cases have been registered in Serbia as of 8:00 am on Wednesday, the Health Ministry said on its covid19.rs web site.

The morning report said that 47 people had been tested for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus between reports.  

Four people were released home with orders to self-isolate and the other seven were hospitalized in generally stable condition with no complications, the ministry report said.  

The Torlak Virology and Vaccines Institute has tested 421 people for the coronavirus since March 18.  

The Serbian authorities imposed a state of emergency across the country on Sunday, March 15 calling the population to stay at home. A curfew (8:00 pm to 5:00 am) was announced on Tuesday evening starting on Wednesday, March 18 with a ban on movement for anyone over the age of 65 in urban areas and over the age of 70 in rural areas.
