Fifth coronavirus case reported in Serbia

The Serbian authorities reported a fifth coronavirus case on Tuesday.

The Covid19.rs web site, which is operated by the Health Ministry, said that the fight patient infected with the COVID-19 coronavirus had been registered on Tuesday.  

The Torlak Institute laboratory has tested a total of 117 people suspected of having contracted the coronavirus by 06:00 pm on Tuesday, the site said.  

A total of nine people, including the infected patient, were tested over the past 24 hours, it added.

 Also on Tuesday, Serbia’s Government decided to temporarily ban foreigners from areas with ‘more intensive coronavirus transmission’ to enter Serbia. The ban applies to people who were in Italy, some Chinese provinces, South Korea, Iran and parts of Switzerland.

The first coronavirus case was registered on March 6.
