Serbian Police intercept driver moving at more than 230 km an hour

The Serbian traffic police intercepted a driver moving down the highway through Belgrade at a speed of 231.2 kilometers an hour, the Internal Affairs Ministry (MUP) said on Wednesday.

The MUP press release said that a police interceptor stopped the unnamed 31 year old driver outside in the Zemun area on the Belgrade-Sid highway.  

The driver was taken to court and fined 120,000 Dinars (1 Euro – 118 Dinars), banned from driving for nine months and ordered to perform 240 hours of community service.
