The OSCE mission to Serbia said on Wednesday that it can no longer view N1 TV in its offices because its cable provider no longer broadcasts the news channel.
“At the Mission, we have ourselves noticed the absence of N1 – one of our sources of information – from our cable provider,” the mission said in a statement to N1. It added that the mission and the Office of the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media are closely following the dispute between Telekom and United Media.
“Freedom of expression and media freedom are crucial tenets of the Mission’s mandate. We are open to meet all sides involved to learn from them more about their concerns,” the statement said.
It said that the OSCE stands for pluralism on the media market, supports free editorial policy and is working for the creation of as inclusive a media environment as possible, with equal opportunities for all media outlets.
