President Aleksandar Vucic told the Serbian state TV (RTS) in Davos that US National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien understands official Belgrade’s position and is prepared to listen to its demands and problems.

Speaking after a meeting with O’Brien at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Vucic expressed the belief that “the door has been opened to talk to our American friends in a different way” and added that the US official is willing to hear people from small countries.

Commenting reactions over the agreement to resume Belgrade-Pristina flights which was brokered between Lufthansa and the authorities in Belgrade and Pristina by US Ambassador Richard Grenell and O’Brien, vucic said that “there is huge ignorance” in the Serbian public, especially among the people who want to know why Air Serbia is not flying that route. He said that he opposed the idea of Air Serbia flying between Belgrade and Pristina because that would complicate procedures and would require new agreements. “It is much easier through Lufthansa and KFOR as mediator,” he said.
