UG: Only Telekom Serbia can send legal call for talks; Supernova waits new offer

The United Group said on Tuesday that it’s time for the Telekom Serbia to stop deceiving the public by pushing forward the phantom firm Supernova to negotiate the rights to distribute UG channels.

“The phantom firm Supernova has sent what it says is “a serious” invitation for cooperation with the United Group. That invitation, written in a tabloid manner and with the amount of “truth” characteristic of tabloids, says that this is the final call for cooperation.

“We support Supernova in ending its offers of non-existent cooperation after this final call because no contract with them would be legal. They have laughed in the face of their users because they are not registered as a company. They act as an operator but are registered just like a seal.

“It’s time, after that final call, for the Telekom, which has been pushing Supernova forward as a negotiator, to stop deceiving the citizens of Serbia about wanting to conduct negotiations to buy programs. We published the offer for N1, which they do not have in their proposal, convinced that its purchase would show that they did not conduct false negotiations under orders from the authorities and couldn’t wait to keep our channels from viewers.

“Because of our care for the citizens of Serbia who like to watch our programmes, we recall that the broadcasting contract was not broken off by us when we had every right to that, a year ago when the official ownership of operators in Serbia was changed and when the Telekom bought them all under very non-transparent circumstances.

“We will not send a final call because we want our programs, into whose quality we constant invest, to be available to as many people as possible. We are calling the Telekom to start legal negotiations if they want to or dare decide on the interest of their users so that they can watch United Media programs in coming years,” the United Group said in its statement.
