Zoran Zivkovic, the leader of the opposition New Party which takes part in the European Parliament (EP) mediated talks between Serbia's regime and its opponents, told reporters during the break in the meeting that "small step forward has been made," but "nothing revolutionary happened" and that the problems were not solved, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.

He added it remained to be seen whether that progress would become a part of formal decisions to improve conditions for the next spring elections and that the EP’s mediator and his aides would draft a list of conclusions and measures for their implementation.

Speaking about the second round of talks, Zivkovic said those meetings were not the waste of time, adding he did not expect miracles, because „those who expect them should not be in the politics.“

„However, „he said, „yesterday and today those from (the ruling Serbian Progressive Party) SNS showed restraint, which means they are aware that when some supervisor comes from Brussels… they have to behave at least a bit better (than usual),“ Zivkovic said.
