The head of the Civil Rights Defenders branch in Serbia said on Wednesday that Red Star Belgrade FC fans “attacked the Pride Info Center” in the center of Belgrade on Tuesday evening when their club played the Greek Olympiakos in a Champions League match.

Civil Rights Defenders Director for Europe wrote on his Twitter account that the police had been warned of the danger of an assault. “Red Star supporters who gathered at Terazije square attacked the Pride Info center even though we told the police that there is a risk of something like that happening,” he tweeted.

Miletic posted pictures showing a group of young men with burning torches and broken bottles and cans in front of the Pride Info Center.

In a separate Twitter post, the Belgrade Pride organization said the police officers deployed in front of the center had withdrawn and added that the police escorting the column of supporters did not stop them from kicking, spitting and throwing bottles and cans at the window of the info center.
