Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Monday that she does not expect Finance Minister Sinisa Mali to resign, adding that the blockade of the Rectorate by student activists demanding his resignation is a disgrace.
“The things happening at the (Belgrade University) Rectorate are a disgrace for Belgrade University, a sad political show whose end is nowhere in sight”, she told a news conference.
Brnabic said that she does not know what demands the students, who se said are political activists, have made but called them to send her the demands which she would respond to immediatelly.
The Prime Minister said that Belgrade University Rector Ivanka Popovic has been making contradictory statements about the events at the Rectorate and the student demands. According to Brnabic, the Rector believes that a group of ruling Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) activists broke into the Rectorate but said nothing about the students lending support to the political groups 1 in 5 Million and the Alliance for Serbia.
