Measures proposed by the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) are a step forward, one of the organizers of the 6th round table between the authorities and opposition told reporters on Thursday.

The SNS submitted a document to the meeting participants including a set of measures which the authorities are prepared to implement to improve conditions for elections. Speaking for the SNS, Internal Affairs Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic said that this is not the final set of measures since more would be proposed on Monday following consultations with coalition partners.

Open Society Foundation Executive Director Milan Antonijevic said that the document put forward by the SNS is finally something tangible six months prior to elections. He said the document would be given to everyone regardless of whether they were still taking part in the discussions or had pulled out, adding that the document would be available within a week.

Antonijevic said the Foundation would take part in the dialogue between European Parliament officials, the opposition and authorities. That does not mean that the 6th round of the talks at the Belgrade University Faculty of Political Science (FPN) is the last meeting,

The meetings between the authorities and opposition were initiated and organized by the Open Society Foundation and the FPN. The opposition Alliance for Serbia (SzS) decided not to take part after three meetings.
