European Integration Minister Jadranka Joksimovic said that she expects Serbia to open at least four chapters in its pre-accession negotiations with the European Union during Finland’s presidency.

Joksimovic told newly-appointed Dutch Ambassador Gilles Beschoor Plug that four chapters are ready to be opened and work is underway to prepare more. She said that Belgrade is aware of the Netherlands strict but fair approach to candidate countries during the accession process, adding that Serbia never asked for concessions, only for respect of clear criteria.

The ambassador said that Serbia’s EU accession is his priority. He said the results of reforms are evident but that they should be intensified primarily in regard to rule of law.
