Serbia’s Government Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic said the Czech Republic President statement that Prague might reconsider the decision on recognition of Kosovo independence, as well as voices from Brussels and Warrington about a need for a compromise, showed Pristina’s status had not been yet solved, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday.

Ljajic told the state RTS TV that one shouldn’t be optimistic that Milos Zeman statement would influence other European Union member states, but it showed that in Prague as well as in the EU, there was no consent about the issue.

„We don’t have an illusion that the EU and US will withdraw its decision to recognise Kosovo’s independence, but a big change is in the fact they at least admitt that the status is not solved and that negotiations are necessary for finding a compromise. Any imposed solution can escalate, and that is something no one needs,” Ljajic told RTS TV.
