The police apprehended ten people on suspicion they participated in an attack against the patrons of a bar who were watching a football match between Serbia's Crvena Zvezda and Switzerland's Young Boys that took place late in August, the spokesperson for the Sibenik county police said on Thursday.

The police had already pressed charges against five people over the incident that took place in the cafe in the village of Uzdolje near the town of Knin, when a dozen persons wearing ski masks allegedly entered the bar with clubs and a machete, destroying the premises and injuring the patrons.

The ten people arrested on Thursday came from the area around the southern cities of Split, Sibenik, and Sinj, and they are suspected of participating in the rioting, inflicting injury and causing damage to property, the police said, according to the Sibenik.IN news portal.

The attackers left in personal cars from Split to travel to Uzdolje on August 21, after they had agreed that they would go to the cafe where the Crvena Zvezda match was being televised in order to attack the cafe’s patrons, according to the police official’s explanation.

Four of those people have been arrested, while one assailant is on the run.

The offenders face prison sentences ranging from six month to five years.
