Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Serbia has been postponed, the Srna news agency said it was told by sources at the Turkish embassy in Belgrade.

The embassy source said that President Erdogan will not be coming to Serbia in August or September because of a scheduling conflict.

The Turkish president was scheduled to come to Belgrade on August 29 to attend the start of construction of a section of the Belgrade-Sarajevo highway and a road in the Sandzak area of western Serbia whose large Muslim population has strong ties with Turkey. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last week that Erdogan would come to Serbia but did not say when.
